Former Harrison Restaurant Owner Arrested in New York

By KSPR News

A restaurant owner from Harrison, Arkansas is coming back from New York in handcuffs.
The police chief tells KSPR Don Stanton was arrested there on a theft warrant from Harrison.
He’s due back in Harrison any day now.
The 60 year-old briefly ran Moma Louisea's on the west side of the square in Harrison.
Stanton is accused of bilking local contractors and a downtown grant program of about $27,000
Chief Paul Woodruff says Stanton would get receipts from contractors and then present them as “paid in full” to the Main Street Harrison grant program for reimbursement. In reality they were never paid.
Chief Woodruff says New York investigators were looking at Stanton for something else when they discovered the Harrison warrant.
