A burglary streak that has plagued the Theodosia area has come to an end with the arrest of a 16-year-old boy from Nixa. Ozark County Sheriff Raymond Pace tells the Ozark County times that Deputy Dale Schofield, with help from the other deputies including Theodosia City Marshal John Ewbank, solved 19 Theodosia burglaries.
The Theodosia Marina, Cookie’s Restaurant, nine campers and eight homes were broken into and vandalized between November 2008 and through March 2009.
Officials say not many items were taken -- it was mainly vandalism, setting off fire extinguishers, throwing flour around, cutting screens and breaking windows.
The most damage was done to Cookie’s Restaurant, where the teenager allegedly broke several large windows. For the moment it appears juvenille authorities will be handling this matter -- Prosecutor Tom Cline could not be reached for comment on whether or not he might seek to have the boy tried as an adult.
