Commercial air service will be returning to the Boone County Arkansas Regional Airport.

The airport's Board of Directors have voted to recommend the U.S. Department of Transportation award the airport's essential air service contract to Mesaba Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

Mesaba Airlines is the longest-flying regional airline in the United States and operates as a Delta Connection carrier for both Delta and Northwest Airlines. Mesaba serves more than 75 cities. It plans to offer daily roundtrip fights to Memphis, Tennessee.
