A student from Stotts City has $25,000 more than she expected when she stopped to buy smokes at a south Springfield convenience store.
Billie Weidmann, 31, stopped at a Kum & Go on South National Avenue on March 25, after classes at ITT Technical Institute. She bought cigarettes and two Scratchers tickets.
"I scratched them in my truck,” she said. “I thought to myself, ‘This
is not real.’"
Weidmann plans to use the money to pay bills and buy gists for her children, ages 7 and 8.
