Fire Chief Hurt in House Fire

By KSPR News

A house fire near Rockaway Beach sent one firefighter to the hospital when a portion of the burning roof fell on top of him. Central Taney County Fire Chief Charles Allgood tells KSPR his department and the Forsyth department were called to the scene on Sioux road Wednesday morning. At one point the smoldering eave fell on top of Forsyth Fire Chief Nate Bower.
"It was a little scary at first," Allgood said.
Turns out Bower was not seriously injured but went to the hospital anyway to get checked out.
Allgood says no one was home when the fire broke out, but some pet snakes and fish died in the fire that destroyed the house.
