List of Missouri Road Projects to Benefit from Stimulus Plan

The Missouri Department of Transpotation has identified an
expanded list of projects that could be funded with federal
stimulus money.
HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE PROJECTS - $661.4 MILLION.
District 1
- Atchison County, U.S. 136 - Painting, re-deck and bridge
repairs of Missouri River bridge at Brownville, Neb. Cost: $9
million.
- Clinton County, Interstate 35 - Resurface northbound and
southbound lanes from north of Shoal Creek to north of Route 116
near Lathrop. Cost: $14.6 million.
District 2
- Adair County, U.S. 63 - Construct 6 miles of new two-lane
roadway on four-lane right of way on the east side of Kirksville
from Benton Way to Eagle Lane. Cost: $18 million.
District 4 (Rural)
- Lafayette County, Interstate 70 - Pavement improvements on the
eastbound and westbound lanes from the Jackson County line to
Odessa. Cost: $8 million.
- Platte County, Interstate 29 - Resurface pavement and
shoulders on northbound and southbound lanes at various locations
from Route 273 to Vivion Road (rural share). Cost: $3 million.
District 4 (Urban)
- Clay County, Route 210 - Widen to four lanes from Eldon Road
to Route 291. Cost: $32 million.
- Jackson County, U.S. 150 - Widen from two lanes to four lanes
from Horridge Road to Route 291. Cost: $17 million.
- Platte County, Interstate 29 - Resurface pavement and
shoulders on northbound and southbound lanes at various locations
from Route 273 to Vivion Road (urban share). Cost: $9 million.
- Jackson County, Interstate 435/70 Interchange - Construct new
half diamond interchange at U.S. 40/I-435, replace Blue Ridge
Cut-off bridge over I-70, add lanes to I-70 and modify some ramps.
Cost: $39 million.
District 5
- Benton County, Routes 83/65/7 - Painting and/or rehabilitation
of bridges on Route 83 over Truman Lake near Mockingbird Road,
Route 65 over the Osage River near Warsaw and Route 7 over Truman
Lake (Osage Arm bridge and Grand River Arm bridge). Cost: $15
million.
- Boone County, U.S. 63/COLT Railroad Build railroad bridge over
U.S. 63 north of Route B in Columbia. Cost: $9 million.
- Cooper County, I-70 - Pavement improvements on westbound lanes
from 0.3 mile east of Route B to Lamine River. Cost: $7 million.
- Miller County, Route 17 - Replace Osage River bridge 1 mile
east of Tuscumbia. Cost: $8.5 million.
District 6
- Franklin County, Interstate 44 - Rebuild pavement from Viaduct
Street to Route 100 West. Cost: $28 million.
- Jefferson County, Interstate 55 - Add lanes and widen and
replace two bridges from north of Route M interchange to 1 mile
south of Route M. Cost: $15 million.
- Jefferson County, Route W - Shoulder, turn lanes and
resurfacing on Routes 109, W and FF. Cost: $5 million.
- St. Charles, Route 364 - Extend Page Avenue from 0.4 mile east
of Jungermann and accelerate from Woodstream to Woodstone. Cost:
$45 million.
- St. Louis County, Route 141 - Construct Route 141 on
relocation from Route 340 to St. Luke's Hospital Drive. Cost: $100
million.
- St. Louis city, I-70 - Pavement improvement from Poplar Street
Bridge to Washington Avenue. Cost: $5 million.
District 7
- Barry/Lawrence/Christian/Greene Counties, U.S. 60 - Construct alternating and intermittent passing lanes from east of Chapell
Drive in Monett to Kansas Avenue in Republic. Cost: $8.7 million.
- Barton/Bates Counties, U.S. 71 - Convert four at-grade
intersections at Route 52, Route 126, Routes DD/EE and Routes V/C
to interchanges as part of the upgrade to I-49. Cost: $27 million.
- McDonald County, U.S. 71 - Construct freeway from Pineville to
Arkansas state line. Cost: $74 million.
District 8 (Urban)
- Greene County, U.S. 65 - Widen to six lanes from I-44 to Route
60 (James River Freeway). Cost: $35 million.
District 9
- Crawford County, I-44 - Pavement rehabilitation on westbound
lanes from 0.6 mile west of Route H to the Phelps County line.
Cost: $2 million.
- Phelps County, I-44 - Major pavement rehabilitation and
reconstruction on westbound lanes from Business Loop 44 (Rolla) to
Sugartree Road interchange. Cost: $12 million.
District 10
- Pemiscot County, I-55 - Pavement rehabilitation on northbound
lanes from Arkansas state line to I-155. Cost: $15 million.
- Pemiscot/New Madrid Counties, Route 55 - Pavement
rehabilitation on northbound and southbound lanes from I-155 to
Scott County. Cost: $18.4 million.
- Wayne County, Route 34 - Widen, build shoulders and straighten
two locations between Route N and Piedmont. Cost: $16 million.
Statewide Minor Routes
- Combination of cold in place, contract level course and WOW
projects on statewide minor routes. Cost: $66.2 million.
MULTIMODAL - $239 MILLION.
Aviation - $91.6 million.
- Statewide commercial service airports with greater than 10,000
annual passenger enplanements. These airports receive development
funds directly from the Federal Aviation Administration, and they
do not flow through MoDOT. Cost: $70 million.
- Johnson County, Warrensburg Skyhaven Airport - Construct
aircraft parking apron. Cost: $2 million.
- Scott County, Sikeston Memorial Municipal Airport - Overlay
runway 2-20. Cost: $2.5 million.
- Cole County, Jefferson City Regional Airport - Construct
parallel taxiway for runway 9-27. Cost: $3.4 million.
- Franklin County, Washington Regional Airport - Rehabilitate
aircraft parking apron. Cost: $900,000.
- Cape Girardeau County, Cape Girardeau Regional Airport -
Pavement maintenance on airfield. Cost: $1.6 million.
- Howell County, Mountain View Airport - Grade runway safety
area. Cost: $1.1 million.
- Howell County, West Plains Municipal Airport - Construct
parallel taxiway for runway 18-36. Cost: $1.3 million.
- Newton County, Neosho Hugh Robinson Airport - Construct taxi
lanes. Cost: $1 million.
- Benton County, Warsaw Municipal Airport - Construct parallel
taxiway for runway 18-36. Cost: $1 million.
- Miller County, Eldon Model Airpark - Extended runway 18-36.
Cost: $2.5 million.
- Saline County, Marshall Memorial Municipal Airport -
Rehabilitate aircraft parking apron. Cost: $900,000.
- St. Francois County, Farmington Memorial Airport - Construct
parallel taxiway for runway 2-20. Cost: $900,000.
- Scotland County, Memphis Memorial Airport - Rehabilitate
runway 12-30. Cost: $2.5 million.
Rail - $36.1 million.
- Johnson County, Passenger Rail Capacity Enhancement -
Construct rail passing siding near Knob Noster and Route 23. Cost:
$7 million.
- St. Louis County, Passenger Rail Capacity Enhancement -
Construct universal crossover at Webster/Kirk rail junction. Cost:
$5.1 million.
- Pettis/Johnson/Cass Counties, Passenger Rail Safety
Improvements - Install lights and gates at highway and rail
crossings. Cost: $2 million.
- Cass County, Passenger Rail Capacity Enhancement - Construct
rail passing siding and grade separation for Route E near Strasburg
and Kingsville. Cost: $22 million.
Ports (no specific funds available for port projects) - $7.4
million.
- Buchanan County, St. Joseph Regional Port - Truck staging area
and access improvements. Cost: $1.3 million.
- Ste. Genevieve County, New Bourbon Regional Port - Port-site
development, dock and river dolphins. Cost: $3 million.
- Cape Girardeau County, SEMO Regional Port - Construct
high-water rail line. Cost: $1.1 million.
- New Madrid County, New Madrid Port - Warehouse expansion and
rail extension. Cost: $2 million.
Transit - $104 million.
- Urban Areas: St. Joseph, Kansas City, Joplin, Springfield,
Columbia, Jefferson City and St. Louis - These urban transit
agencies receive development funds directly from Federal Transit
Administration - they do not flow through MoDOT. Cost: $81 million.
- Statewide, Rural Transit Providers - Purchase 350 rural
transit vehicles to replace existing vehicles that have exceeded
useful life. Cost: $15 million.
- Mississippi County, East Prairie - Construct transit facility
for Mississippi County Transit. Cost: $625,000.
- Webster County, Marshfield - Construct bus garage for City of
Marshfield. Cost: $75,000.
- Ray County, Richmond - Facility improvements for Ray County
Transit. Cost: $30,000.
- Butler County, Poplar Bluff - Construct bus stop shelters and
install bus stop signs for fixed route service in Poplar Bluff for
SMTS. Cost: $110,000.
- Shelby County, Shelbina - Construct transit administration and
maintenance facility in Shelbina for OATS, Inc. Cost: $2.65
million.
- Butler County, Poplar Bluff - Construct transit administration
facility in Poplar Bluff for SMTS. Cost: $1.2 million.
- Cass County, Harrisonville - Construct transit administration
and maintenance facility in Harrisonville for OATS Inc. Cost: $2.8
million.
- Stoddard County, Dexter - Construct transit administration
facility in Dexter for Stoddard County Transit, Inc. Cost:
$500,000.
ENHANCEMENTS - $35.5 MILLION.
- Extension of Katy Trail. Cost: $3 million.
- Clay County, Route 9 - Rehabilitate and add bicycle and
pedestrian facility to Heart of America Bridge. Cost: $9 million.
- Cole County, U.S. 54 - Bicycle and pedestrian bridge
attachment connecting to the Lewis and Clark Trail Head. Cost: $6
million.
- Clay County, Route 169 - Sidewalk improvements from Route 92
to Route KK. $1.5 million.
- Clay County, Route 1 - Sidewalk improvements from Vivion Road
to 72nd Street. Cost: $1.5 million.
- St. Louis County, Route 67 - Pedestrian improvements from
I-270 to Old St. Charles Road. Cost: $1 million.
- St. Louis County, Route AC - Pedestrian improvements from
Route 67 to I-270. Cost: $1 million.
- Taney County, Route 76 - Sidewalk improvements from Roark
Valley Road to Gretna. Cost: $1 million.
- Atchison County - Construction of new Welcome Center on I-29
at Rock Port. Cost: $4.5 million.
- New Madrid County - Construction of new Welcome Center on I-55
at Marston. Cost: $7 million.
CONGESTION MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY - $32 MILLION.
- Urban Public Transit Agency, St. Louis - Operating assistance.
Cost: $27.84 million.
- Urban Public Transit Agency, Kansas City - Operating
assistance. Cost: $4.16 million.
FOREST HIGHWAY - $1.13 MILLION.
- Howell/Ozark Counties - Thin-lift overlay from Route 63 to
Route 181. Cost: $1.13 million.
