Missing Kansas City Woman May Be Victim of Foul Play

By KSPR News

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas City police say a missing 35-year-old mother of three may be a victim of foul play.

Renee Pernice was last seen by her husband Friday morning. The Kansas City Star reported Tuesday that Pernice's cell phone was found Saturday in northeast Kansas City, and that police canvassed the area that day and again Monday.

Police spokesman Darin Snapp said investigators believe her disappearance is suspicious, and that foul play may have been involved.

Pernice is a mother of three and teaches nursing students at St. Luke's College.

Her father, Rick Pretz, said "It would just be out of character for Renee to take off and leave her kids." Pernice's husband, Shon Pernice, declined to comment Monday.

Pernice is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with blue eyes and shoulder-length brunette hair.
