During this New Year’s holiday, the state Highway Patrol investigated fewer crashes, but more traffic deaths.

More than twice as many people died on Missouri roads this year compared to last New Year's counting period.

Thirteen people were killed, compared to 6 last year.

There were about 100 fewer wrecks.

The counting period started at 6 p.m. New Year's Eve and ended Sunday night.
