The Laclede County Sheriff says the search for an unidentified homicide victim is over.
Investigators announced a woman found in a container filled with concrete was Sharon Sabla from Lebanon.
Detectives say Horst Gunter Sabla killed his wife, then discarded her body in the concrete encased box off Laclede County Route AA.
Investigators say Sharon Sabla was never reported missing until the media mentioned the concrete container mystery.
A former neighbor says she saw the reports and knew she had a tip that could break open the case.
"I had a feeling i just felt something wasn't right," former neighbor Karen Willets says.
She says she got that feeling after she noticed she no longer say Sharon Sabla with her husband.
After Sharon and her husband moved away from Willets' neighborhood, she says only Horst would visit the neighborhood.
Willets says the two were inseparable.
"He changed his hair color,” Willets says. “I knew something wasn't right."
Willets says news reports made her realize her sneaking suspicions could solve a homicide.
"I knew the body was found in concrete and he had a tool box in his truck that wasn't there anymore,” Willets says. “Then the concrete mixer he was using is now across the street from me."
Sheriff Richard Wrinkle says once they got tips last Friday, officers rushed to find Sharon’s family members.
They used DNA from Sharon's daughter to the body that confirmed Sharon was the victim.
"This was given top priority over other cases," Wrinkle says.
Then, investigators waited on a road Horst Sabla traveled to arrest him.
"We made a traffic stop and arrested him without incident," Wrinkle says.
Once in jail, detectives say Sabla admitted to shooting his wife in the back of the head in August.
They say he kept her body in his home for several weeks before discarding it on Route AA.
Neighbors who live in the RV where Horst Sabla lived until his arrest say they never saw Sharon.
Court documents show the couple previously lived in the house next to Willets before it foreclosed.
The Sabla home foreclosed in July, one month after investigators say Horst killed his wife.
"There are a lot of details we are unable to disclose," says Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Jason Clark.
On Thursday, investigators were tight-lipped about why they were back in the Sabla's old neighborhood.
They were at a home where a concrete mixer sits.
While investigators put the pieces together, Willets hopes she helped Sharon's family find peace.
"I'm happy to know they know where she's at,” Willets says. “I hope it helps them in some way, we'll miss her."
Willets says she never saw any family or friends visit the Sabla home.
She also says Sharon Sabla did not work.
She says neighbors and Sharon's husband may be the only people in Lebanon who would notice she was missing.
Horst Sabla is being held without bond in the Laclede County Jail.
He faces first degree murder and armed criminal action charges.
