Are 16 year olds ready for college?

One KSPR Daily Download segment was about 16-year-olds. In New Hampshire, education leaders are planning to allow students to test out of their last two years of high school, meaning teens as young as 16 could be headed to college.

We wanted to know if you thought 16-year-olds are ready for college. Most people said no, but a lot of people said it depends on a student's maturity. What do you think? Leave your thoughts below.

“I think some of them are..people mature at different levels. I have witnessed twenty year olds that arent ready.”

“I was homeschooled so I was able to work ahead and graduate from High School a year early. I had just turned 17 two weeks before I went to college. I never felt unprepared or too young. A bit naive perhaps, but aren’t most college kids?”

“No! The kids at my local high school act mr like preschoolers! College wld b more responsibility than they kan handle.”

“It would depend on the individual child and the advancement that child has.”
