Crosslines will distribute a record number of Thanksgiving food baskets to 967 pre-approved Greene County families at Pathways United Methodist Church, 1232 E. Dale.

When: The distribution will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2007 from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Details: Each food basket contains food for the entire day, including breakfast, a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all of the trimmings, and a light supper.

"In this day and age when families seem to be running in different directions, Crosslines wants to promote the tradition of sitting down to a Thanksgiving meal together," said Crosslines Director, Pam Copling. "These food baskets ensure the families we serve will have the ingredients for a traditional meal."

Crosslines' volunteers have worked many hours to prepare the food baskets and help organize the event. Hundreds more volunteers will spend Saturday at the distribution performing various duties of the day, including checking the families in and carrying out the food baskets for the families.

The Crosslines' Advisory Committee and the Council of Churches of the Ozarks' Board of Directors and staff members have also volunteered to deliver more than 100 of the food baskets to the elderly and homebound.

Crosslines is accepting financial donations for food baskets. Each $32.00 donation will cover the cost of one Thanksgiving basket. Donations may be mailed to: Crosslines Thanksgiving Food, 627 N. Glenstone, Box 3947, Springfield, MO 65808-3947.
