Cutting Out Fast Food Ads Could Cut Back on Childhood Obesity

By KSPR News

Researchers say cutting out the food commercials could cut back on childhood obesity.

That’s what a new study published in this month's "journal of law and economics" is suggesting.

For several years, researchers studied American children and their TV fast food commercial consumption.

They found one in four food ads was for a fast food chain.

Researchers believe banning these TV commercials could reduce the number of obese children by 18%.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, about one-third of American kids are obese or overweight.
