Carol Jones, CEO of Carol Jones, Realtors, retired on Friday.

She says she decided to hang it up at the beginning of this year, after 25 years of running her company.

There are no plans to fill her spot right now, but Jones will be around offering advice or guidance when needed.

Jones says she's also looking forward to spending more time with her family.

Eric Olson, Springfield Business Journal says, "New grandchildren she wants to spend time with, she has 5 now. She's like to do some traveling. As she told us she just wants to see Christmas in New York once. So you really get the feeling that her focus in life is shifting to her family and to some personal interests that she has."

Also making news in the real estate market, two prominent Springfield-based commercial brokers have merged.

Pellham Commercial Realtors is now part of the Murney family.
