A record number of Ozarkers are expected to visit the polls today. KSPR knows of long lines at some polling places and no wait at others. We want to know how your voting experience was. A handful of Ozarkers already sent their experiences to us. You can read theirs below.
Was your voting experience quick and easy, did you wait it out in a long line, wake up early, or run into some poll problems when you were there? Whatever your story, we want to hear it. Send your experience to news@kspr.com or you can share it below.
“Up here in Gladstone my wife and I had no problems voting. We went to our polling place around noon and 10 minutes we were done. It was a paper ballot and we had no problem with that. I told my wife the only problem I had was when I put my finished ballot in the locked box I thought I heard a paper shredder going :).”
“Huge turnout this morning. My wait began in the car as I was in line for ½ block, just to get the car parked! Then I waited in a line of folks
that went out through the front door. 11/2 hours later I finally put my ballot into the machine. I’d have gladly waited another 10 hrs to get BUSH out of there!!! But the lines where very long in case you are wondering.” –Bill, Springfield
“My Friend David woke me up at 3:30 Am and said he was already at his polling place Hes disabled and uses a power chair and rolled from Madison and Campbell to Asbury he said he was second in line so i got up made some coffee got dressed and had a cup then about 4:30 A.M. i started out to our polling place which was Seminole Baptist Temple my wife and I don't drive but i use a power chair too so rolled down Montclair to National and I got there at 5:10 AM and there were several cars there too it was pretty smooth i just wanted to get ahead of the crowd.” –Harry, Springfield
“I voted this morning at the Seminole Baptist Church location. When I got to the front of the line, I presented my ID and signed the register. I was then offered a "I Voted" sticker by the election official who should have offered me a ballot because I hadn't voted yet. He gave me a ballot after I informed him that I hadn't voted yet (He took my word for it). It seems like anyone could have walked in without registering and probably would have given them a ballot. Very disappointing!” –Jimmy
“For the first time in 23 years, I have finally seen long lines at the polls in Laclede County. Poling at Community Baptist Church on Hwy 64 outside of Lebanon was bustling. I couldn't believe that there was a waiting line. They have increased the number of voting booths and broke down the check in procedure, but there was still about a 20 minute or longer wait. This has got to bode well for the candidates and the issues. I am glad that people have decided that they needed to get out and vote!”
“I went to my polling place at James River Assembly this morning at about 5:45 a.m. At 6:00 a.m. the line was out the door. When the polling place opened it went fairly quickly. With waiting in line and voting I think that I was out in about 15 minutes. I actually got to work an hour earlier than planned. Very pleasant experience.” –Pam
“My polling place is at 500 South St. Christian Church. I walked in and signed my name for verification. Was handed blank ballot. I found an empty place among all the tables that where available. I filled out my ballot and was out of there in less than 15 minutes. There was no crowd at all, I was there at about 9:00.” –Lara
