CROP Walk Helps Feed Hungry

By KSPR News
By Joanna Small

We walk because they walk; we walk two miles around Phelps Grove Park in Springfield, they walk everywhere.
That’s because they are people who are homeless and hungry, so to help them Church World Service created the CROP Walk; the acronym stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.
They do it by hosting walks around the nation like the one in Springfield Sunday.
The same event last year attracted 115 walkers from 13 different area churches and raised $6,500, about a quarter of which stayed in the Ozarks.
