The financial crisis is hitting one of Springfield's big developments. The Heers Building on Park Central Square will no longer have lofts in the development plans.
According to Carol Jones Realtor Michelle Cantrell the lofts will be replaced with apartments.
The recent issues with the financial markets and the ability to get financing means developer Kevin McGowan will instead be looking to bring in a business client to occupy the building. That business is expected to bring 200 to 300 employees with it.
McGowan is expected to redevelop the Heers building after the city redesigns the outer portion of Park Central Square.
