A man from Liberty, Missouri drowned over the weekend when he fell out of a canoe on the Niangua River near Lebanon. The water patrol says Nieves Marquez was struggling to get back into the canoe when his fiance tried to give him a lifejacket. When he refused, his fiancé says he went under and did not resurface. His fiance pulled the victim to shore and attempted c-p-r.
