Local Man, Family Friend of Palin Describes the New VP Candidate

Friday, John McCain picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate. He described her as exactly what this country needs.

KSPR caught up with a local man who is a family friend of Palin. His parents used to go to church with her. He described her as a life-long NRA member with a traditional alaskan family.

He also said Palin can be a breath of fresh air for Ozarkers.

"She really has been able to appeal to a lot of people, primarily because of her ethics and you really do feel that you can trust her word and I think thta's where she brings a strength to that," said family friend, Reggie McElhannon.
