Plaid Shirt Bank Robber Caught

By KSPR News

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Joseph Young was driving 40 miles per hour on Interstate 44 near mile marker 42 Thursday morning when a patrolman pulled him over.

He had made quite a name for himself—known now as the "plaid shirt robber" for wearing those dated shirts and a hat. He hit at least 20 banks in places like South Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky and Minnesota. The latest happened in West Virginia.

Young was last seen near a wooded area near Rogersville as he was running away from the FBI, highway patrol, sheriff's deputies and police officers.
