Plaid Shirt Bank Robber Caught

By KSPR News

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Joseph Young was driving 40 miles per hour on Interstate 44 near mile marker 42 Thursday morning when a patrolman pulled him over.

He had made quite a name for himself—known now as the "plaid shirt robber" for wearing those dated shirts and a hat. He hit at least 20 banks in places like South Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky and Minnesota. The latest happened in West Virginia.

Young was last seen near a wooded area near Rogersville as he was running away from the FBI, highway patrol, sheriff's deputies and police officers.

I knew Joe also worked with him. I never thought he would do something like this. I just don't think anyone ever gave him a chance he was really a good guy and it sucks to see that he chose this path.

IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW ONE LOOKS, ACTS, OR SMELLS, WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND HAVE FEELINGS. IT IS NOT NICE TO MAKE FUN OF SOMEONE AND THOSE WHO DO --WELL, AS WE ALL HAVE HEARD "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND", THROUGH YOUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, ETC. EVERYONE NEEDS TO THINK BEFORE THEY SPEAK..

Nice job MSHP?!? Please, he drove right by them several days before they finally caught him! While I realize what he did was wring and would never vote for his release, he took on the 'man' and for a little while he won!

I went to school with Joe, Jr. High and High School.. He was constantly picked on him (made fun of his massive overbite)and bullied by not only several students but also teachers and coaches aswell.. So I guess he is a product of a society that rejected him.

"Dated" shirts? A) Be careful or you'll tick off half the guys in your audience. B)Is this story about a fashion crime or the fact that he knocked off a string of banks?
