No. It is not "sign of the times." The misfortune that the Grand Palace has experienced is due to the greed of the family who owned the theatre.

Unfortunately, The Grand Palace is too big to be profitable with a long running Branson show, and too small to bring in the hot, big ticket artists who are usually booked into much larger arena type facilities. Hopefully the new owner of this property will be able to find a way to creatively bring new life to this landmark, and not tear it down to build more timeshare condos. Branson must protect it's family entertainment venues, or become just another time share sales pitch destination.

I fear it is indeed a sign of the times, a harbinger of more such sales to come.

Big buildings are going cheap! There was a 35,000' building in Crane for $125,000. It was in good condition, but who needs it. I've seen lots of large properties in Florida and Memphis that won't bring a bid. This one might go cheap!. How many that follow is a real concern.

This is too bad. The place is beautiful and has so much potential. I hope this isn't a sign of the times.
