Airport Will Announce 'More Developments' in Service

By KSPR News

The Springfield-Branson National Airport will hold a news conference Thursday morning on the state of air service at the facility.

In a news release, Public Information Officer Kent Boyd noted the airport will lose its Delta service to Cincinnati at the end of this month.

Boyd said high energy prices are forcing airlines to reduce service, and in some cases, cut service all together.

Boyd said the airport will announce "more developments" Thursday.

Tulsa and NW Arkansas are not always cheaper - depends on where you are going. Obviously if you are going to Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix and sometimes Denver - Springfield will be at the same rate or lower. Lots of times Memphis is lower than flying from KC or St. Louis - however if you are going to Houston or New York or LA then Tulsa will be cheaper and NW Arkansas is cheaper to New York. The bottom line is make your reservation early
