A shipping company is expanding in Springfield.

FedEx today announced plans for a new facility to house its FedEx freight operation.

The company says the facility will employ 150 people with the potential to expand to 250 employees.

The Springfield area Chamber of Commerce says the average salary at the facility will be 45% higher than the area's current average salary.

The new facility will be built near Interstate 44 and Division... Adjacent to the partnership Industrial Park West.
