Greene County inmate finds pipe bomb

By KSPR News

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confiscated a pipe bomb. Fire Marshal Investigator Randy Sweet says the pipe bomb was found by a Greene County Jail inmate while trimming trees. The inmate found the pipe bomb at the bottom of a creek near Farm Road 88 and Farm Road 94 just south of Willard. Sweet says investigators aren’t sure if the bomb exploded in Greene County or traveled down the creek. Investigators believe the pipe bomb is old because it is rusted likely from recent flooding. Anyone with information can call the Missouri Arson hotline at 1-800-392-7766 .
