Marshfield Celebrates 130th July 4th Parade

By Brad Belote

Marshfield revelers celebrated July 4th the same way they have for the last 130 years: with a parade.

Gov. Matt Blunt and two of the people hoping to succeed him - Kenny Hulshof and Sarah Steelman - joined hundreds of others in the Webster County seat to celebrate Independence Day.

This year's theme was "Just Never Forget." Marshfieldian of the Year Dr. Tommy Macdonnell was the grand marshal of the parade.

Leland Cantrell was the honoray grand marshal. Cantrell, 90, has been missed a parade.
