UPDATE: Springfield Man Charged with Murder

Greene County Prosecutors have charged a man with second-degree murder for a deadly stabbing on N. Kansas Expressway Sunday.

William Alspaugh, 45, was charged Monday. He's also charged with armed criminal action.

Officer says they found Dwight M. Scott, 34, stabbed at 626 N. Kansas Expressway. The man had been stabbed in the chest. He later died at a hospital.

This is Dwight M.Scott "D" "D-Dub", went to Central High School. Played football... Well Dwight was my 1st cousin. He was my friend, family and at times my guide in life! Words can't even express this loss. Five wonderful children are now let without a father and a friend.He is and always will be greatly missed. Anyone who met Dwight knows he was one of a kind! Dwight has been a friend of mine since 1993. He was a son, brother, father, friend, and teacher. He will be greatly missed. The man accused of this took much more than 1 life...he affected the lives of many and Dwights innocent children. RIP Dwight. You are now an Angel in Paradise!
