Missouri lawmakers vote to repeal money limits

By Brad Belote

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Big bucks could start flowing to Missouri politicians again - just in time for the fall elections.

Lawmakers gave final approval Friday to legislation repealing
Missouri's campaign contribution limits. If signed by Gov. Matt
Blunt, politicians could take contributions of unlimited amounts
beginning Aug. 28.

This is the second time Missouri lawmakers have voted to repeal contribution limits.

A 2006 law lifting the limits was struck down on procedural
grounds by the Missouri Supreme Court after being in effect for
about six months.
