IRS Makes Big Stimulus Check Mistake in Missouri

By KSPR News

Economic stimulus checks are going out to taxpayers nationwide, but some Kansas City residents are worried the IRS made a big mistake.

Residents received IRS letters letting them know how much they'll receive and when.

On the outside the letters had the right name and address, but on the inside they found another taxpayer’s name, address, and social security number.

IRS officials admitted there was a bit of a mix-up, but don't know many people received someone else’s information.

our deposit is due to be mailed to us soon as July 11th supposedly! recently we check the on line irs for status of rebate check and states we do not qualify based on the back that someone else used my husband and a dependent! which makes no sense at all, we our 3 in our family and files our 2007 taxes already and we have no other reason for not receiving a stimulus check, but according to the irs, we do not qualify for that reason that someone else claimed my husband as a dependent! help?

My deposit was suppose to go in on May 9th. I've not seen anything and I can't get a hold of the IRS to find out where it is. I keep getting recordings that tell me nothing.
