When Will You Receive a Stimulus Check?

By KSPR News

Tuesday is tax day, and for those who do file in time, a stimulus check will hit your mailbox or bank account soon.

Only people who file their taxes are eligible for the check.

The IRS will start sending your money in the next two weeks, but when you actually get the check depends on the last two digits of your social security number.

Here's a layout of the payment dates for those who will receive their money through direct deposit…

00 - 20 ... May 2
21 - 75 ... May 9
76 - 99 ... May 16

The IRS has a different payment plan for anyone who chooses to receive a check instead. Again, when you receive your check depends on the last two digits of your SSN. Here is the payment plan of when you can expect to receive a check in the mail…

00 - 09 ... May 16
10 - 18 ... May 23
19 - 25 ... May 30
26 - 38 ... June 6
39 - 51 ... June 13
52 - 63 ... June 20
64 - 75 ... June 27
76 - 87 ... July 4
88 - 99 ... July 11

The IRS also has a new online calculator available so taxpayers can determine just how much money they’ll receive. You can find a link to the calculator in the “Related Content” section of this story.

I hear the Federal Reserve is a business and not part of the government and they are giving out the checks. Guess that is why we have to pay taxes on the checks since they are paying us!! What a rip!!

This is to the person who said the government owes us nothing..LOL are you kidding me?!! They owe us everything. They tax our hard earned money and what do they do with it? 'we' are in debt over a trillion dollars, they give our money to welfare cases and ssi for those who dont need it. We pay their wages, the least, the very least they can do is give us a little more back. Your unbelivable!

According to www.irs.gov "If filing or preparation fees were deducted from your 2007 Refund or you received a rapid refund, you will be receiving a check instead of a direct deposit." I thought this might answer a lot of questions everyone has about their refund checks. I am sad to say that my husband and I had our fee's taken out of our refund so we will not be getting our refund on May 9th as we though. Ours will be mailed to us at the end of June.

If you used turbo tax they won't start depositing the checks until May 16 (because it's the final day of stimulus checks and they can all be sent out at once. The gov't deposits the checks to Turbo Tax, then they deposit them to your account. You'r suppose to give it up to 6 weeks after the day the irs gave you before they will hear complaints

To answer Kim and Jennifer's question... the gov't will start direct depositing checks on those dates. Not everyone with the social security #'s 21-75 will receive their's on May 9. To track your deposit and see exactly when it will come you'll have to visit http://www.irs.gov/

I filed my taxes through turbo tax and had my refund deposited directly into my checking account. Will I still be getting my stimulus check deposited into my account directly or have it mailed to me? Also, is there a delay on the checks or a problem with the system because I have yet to hear from anyone receiving theirs?

I looked on the IRS website and it said that if you did file your tax return and get it through rapid refund, that you will be getting a check mailed to you. Also, if you had any fees taken out of your return for like tax preperation fees, you will be getting a check in the mail. For more information go to WWW.IRS.GOV

Mrs. White- from what I hear there was an option when you filed your taxes whether you wanted your check to be direct deposited or sent in the mail. If you didn't give out your account # and received your tax returns in the mail it's safe to assume your rebate will also come in the mail. Thelma- The two of you should receive one joint check. Verna- I'm not positive how much you will receive. I suggest clicking on the Rebate Check Calculator located in the Related Content section of this story.

Question! How do you know if the check is going to be "Direct Deposit" or mailed? How are they going to determine this, and how do they know your acct. #??

Monday, Apr 28 at 11:02 AM KSPR Producer wrote ...

Delores- Since you and your husband filed jointly you will receive one check worth $1,200. If you filed for any dependent kids you should receive an extra $300 for each kid. As far as the social security numbers go, I'm not sure which number the IRS will use. I assume it will go by the head of the household's number. Hope this helps.
