Walking and Talking on Cell Phone Ban

Many states in the U.S. are considering bans on driving and talking on a cell phone, but something as simple as walking and talking on a phone may soon get a similar restriction.

Illinois is thinking about the ban, but it would only be under certain circumstances.

The proposal would make it illegal to talk on a cell phone while crossing a street.

Supporters say too many people get hurt, or even killed, while walking and talking on the phone.

Opponents say the law would take away their basic right to talk wherever they want.
