NWS Confirms Tornado Touched Down in Buffalo

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in Buffalo Monday afternoon.

The maximum path width was 300 yards. The tornado traveled about 5 miles and wind speeds reached 120 mph.

The tornado started near Prairie Grove and Neill Road. It damaged a turkey farm at that location.

The twister caused sporadic damage throughout the southwest portion of Buffalo. It damaged about 40 homes in the city and destroyed others. Three people suffered minor injuries from the tornado in Buffalo.

Finally, the tornado lifted near the airport on the northeast side of the city.

Although I don't live in Buffalo my children and grandchildren live in the apartments on Johnson Street that were slightly damaged by the tornado I want to thank all the volunteers police and rescue people who aided and protected people and property during this emergency THANK YOU ALL

This tornado in Buffalo will be one I will never forget! I was on my way home sitting in front of Woods supermarket when I watched in horror as it ripped the Antique store and gas station to pieces. My wife was 200yds to the north in her school bus turning onto 65 just seconds after it happened. I thank God no one was seriously injured
