Ozarks County Wide Flood Damage

By KSPR News

During a conference call with the Missouri Emergency Management Agency Tuesday (3-18), SEMA told county directors the state is at 1993 flood levels.

1993 is widely considered the most costly and devastating U.S. flood in modern history.

Camden County:
Flooding concerns with the Little and Big Niangua Rivers and well as the Wet and Dry Glaze. These particular areas are and will remain impassable for the next 2-3 days as the water in the county is continuing to rise. The area in the Climax Springs region of the county is under watchful eyes at this time.
Some roads and approximately 6 low water bridges in the Possum Hollow Road area are flooded.
Low water slabs and bridges remain the greatest concern for flooding.

Cedar County:
Minor flooding on some rural roads

Dade County:
Closed- HIghway K east of Highway 39
Closed- Portions of Highway 97

Dallas County:
Benett Springs campground is at greatest risk.
Highway 32 is almost closed.
Some highways and county roads are closed.

Stone County:
A small mobile home park in Galena was evacuated.
Several more areas north of Galena along the James River are also being evacuated.

Taney County:
Voluntary evcuation of Railroad Avenue in Hollister.
Bull Creek Village near Forsyth threatened by rising water.
At least three mobile home parks have been evacuated.

Texas County:
Many roads are impassable.
The greatest concern is Dog's Bluff around the Big Piney.
The water is six feet from flooding highway 17.

Webster County:
Emergency Management says half the county roads are damaged. Sandbags have been laid around homes in Seymour, Marshfield and Rogersville.
The county lost at least one bridge so far.
In Marshfield, four of the city's 12 lift stations at its waste water treatment facility are not working. Two were hit by lightning , one quit and one is barely operable. Because of that waste water is being diverted, and EM director Bill Sexton says sewer water is backing up into people's homes.
The county performed at least two water rescues on Tuesday.

The Logan Rogersville Fire Department performed several water rescues including the late night Tuesday rescue with Springfield in which one person died in a car that was swept into the James River.
