Democrats Try to Move Missouri Forward

By KSPR News

State democrats are trying to "Move Missouri Forward" with a new health care plan.

They promoted their plan appropriately titled "Moving Missouri Forward" in Springfield today.

It aims to restore the state's Medicaid cuts and streamline health care efforts.

The plan aims to prevent health problems such as tobacco use and obesity.

Democrats will introduce their plan in December and plan to pursue it through the next year.

However, they do not believe it will be an easy ride.

“I gotta tell ya it's gonna be a tough sell. The current legislature hasn't shown that they're interested in expanding health care and options for the state of Missouri so we have our work cut out for us,” Minority Leader Paul LeVota told us.

The new plan will also create new offices and programs aimed to keep Missouri healthy.
