West Plains HS juniors get shoes from anonymous donors

WEST PLAINS, Mo. -- On behalf of 13 anonymous area donors, the Shoe Sensation of West Plains made a delivery of new shoes to the entire junior class at West Plains High School this week.  A total of $10,000 was donated to provide each student with a brand new pair of shoes.

The students were recently fitted by Shoe Sensation and were able to select from brands including Adidas, Nike, Puma, Kswiss, and Osiris in six different women’s and men’s styles.

"I cannot express enough thanks for the shoe donation for our junior class students.  We are honored to be chosen for such a terrific and fun donation.  We sincerely appreciate the support as we work together to help our students reach their highest potential," said principal Jack Randolph.

The donors’ goals were twofold: to provide students with new shoes and to show quality products are available in the West Plains area to encourage local shopping.  By choosing the junior class, the donors felt that the students would get longer wear at school.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks hopes to expand to other donations for future projects.  Additional contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks at 27 Court Square in West Plains or by contacting, Carol Silvey at (417) 256-4725.
