LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A Springfield woman has hopes of a crowning moment Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Springfield High School graduate and Drury University student Tippe Emmott will compete as Miss Missouri in the Miss America Pageant. The 22-year-old won her Miss Missouri title last June. She is the reigning Miss Branson title holder too.
Emmott's platform as Miss Missouri has focused on self-confidence. She will perform Ballet-en-Pointe. Emmott is hoping to become the second Miss Missouri to be crowned Miss America. Debbye Turner won the title in 1990.
