SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Springfield Police say one man is in custody, another man is in the hospital after a Friday morning fight between two apartment tenants.
The dispute broke out at a downtown apartment complex on East Cherry Street shortly after 10:00 a.m. Police say the suspect slashed the victim with a machete on the upper arm. His injuries do not appear life-threatening.
The suspect was taking away in handcuffs. Witnesses say the two men were arguing over pills.
The 6 p.m. newscast said the machete-wielding one had problems with his victim's loud music. This written account here says the attack was over pills. I choose to believe the cause was over loud music, because I have been in similar situations. Only my solution to the apartment loud music problem was mental images of smashing the loud music source with a sledgehammer.
