REPUBLIC, Mo. -- Republic Police investigators say a Missouri Gas Energy employee was at the right place at the right time. He accidentally interrupted an assault on two women.
Greene County prosecutors charged Jay Jett, 57, with felonious restraint, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after police say he forced two housekeepers to undress at gunpoint.
Police say Jett hired the two women to clean his home. After they arrived, police say he then forced them to undress, Police say, when they refused, Jett got his gun.
Police say a Missouri Gas Energy employee then came to the door to talk to the homeowner about a bill. Investigators say the women then escaped once the MGE employee entered the home.
Police say Jett claims the women were trying to steal from him.
