Men accused in deaths of Porters face a judge

FORSYTH, Mo. --  Two men, accused in the deaths of a Willard couple, pleaded not guilty in a Taney County courtroom.

Dusty Hicks and Tony Friend face murder charges for the deaths of Rebecca and Rusty Porter.  The Porters disappeared from their Willard home in April of 2011.  Investigators found their bodies in a remote area of the Mark Twain National Forest in Taney County in the summer of 2011.  A Taney County grand jury earlier this month charged Friend and Hicks.

Investigators from Greene and Taney Counties have been working together on the murder investigation.  Detectives believe Friend and Hicks took the the Porters alive from their home and took them to Taney County, where they were killed and hidden.
