WROCLAW, Poland (KTLA) -- Turns out the story of a 45-year old man who had all his teeth removed by his scorned ex-girlfeind was a hoax.
News websites around the world ran the story last week about a woman in Poland named Anna Maćkowiak who took revenge on a man named Marek Olszewski when he turned up at her clinic complaining of toothache, two days after dumping her for another woman.
Machowiak allegedly agreed to help, but instead of treating his toothache, she gave him a large dose of anesthetic and pulled out all his teeth.
The article, first reported by the Daily Mail, even included quotes from the dentist.
"I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions,"Anna Machowiak told the Daily Mail.
"But when I saw him lying there, I just thought, 'What a bastard.'"
And this quote from the victim.
"I looked in the mirror and couldnt f***king believe it. The b**ch had emptied my mouth."
The article claimed Mackowiak was accused of medical malpractice and could face up to three years in prison.
But police say they have no record of a complaint being filed or any charges issues.
It now appears the story was completely fabricated, but by who remains a mystery.
