Today, will be cooler overall with that wind whipping out of the north and west between 10 to 20 mph. Highs will struggle to hit near 50, but the wind chill will make it feel like 40s for much of the afternoon. As we head into Tuesday, an upper level low pressure system will be impacting the Ozarks, especially near the Arkansas border. We'll see rain for much of Tuesday afternoon. As we get cold enough, some of this will be turning into a light rain/snow mix. Some of this will be turning into light snow leading into early Wednesday morning.
As you can see in the pictures above and below, some weather models aren't agreeing on the coverage. One (above) keeps much of the rain/snow south of Springfield...while the other (below) gives us more of the white stuff.
I'm not expecting accumulations higher than an inch or so, but roadways could be slick for your morning commute. Highs will melt anything we receive as temps boost to the 40s.
