Pictures: Truck snaps power lines over I-44 in Strafford

Police say a tire truck was traveling west on I-44 Friday afternoon with its boom up. The boom struck overhead wires near mile marker 88 and pulled them down onto an eastbound semi. Although the semi driver wasn't injured, his truck sustained significant damage. As the lines fell, they also snapped a telephone pole in half at the corner of Redwood and McCabe in Strafford. The pole fell into the road, blocking the intersection. No one was hurt in the incident, but some cable and internet customers in the area may have service issues as a result of the lines coming down.
