Pictures: Springfield post office picket

About 60 people held an "informational picket" outside the main post office at 500 W. Chestnut Expressway Tuesday. They were protesting proposed changes to how the mail is delivered in Springfield that includes cutting jobs and processing mail in Kansas City.

If a business model isn't working, for the sake of the customers and employees the business must change its model.  Clearly the current business model of the USPS isn't working.  They are losing money hand over fist.  When I worked there in the early 90s, there was a budget surplus.  But, times have changed, and in order for the post office to be successful, it is going to have to change as well.
