Pickup driver killed, several injured in Branson-bound bus crash

PINDALL, Ark. -- A pickup driver died on Thursday morning after a head-on crash with a tour bus on U.S. 65.  Five or six people on the bus were flown to a hospital in Little Rock to be treated for injuries.

The crash was about 11 a.m. on Rainbolt Hill between Pindall and St. Joe.  An emergency responder from Pindall/Gilbert/St. Joe Fire and Rescue says the southbound pickup driver tried to miss a car in his same lane and swerved into the path of the oncoming bus.  The pickup driver died at the scene.

The people on the bus are from the Hot Springs area.  They were heading to Branson, Mo., for a weekend trip.
