Ice, Freezing Rain, and Thundersleet

Continues through the afternoon

Today, it's a mixed bag of precipitation - in all it's forms. We're talking sleet, rain, freezing rain, some storms, and even thundersleet thrown in there for good measure. This activity will be spotty throughout the morning is Springfield Metro and much heavier towards our north. We'll see several waves throughout the afternoon, but by 6/7pm or so, it should be letting up. We'll mainly see freezing rain and sleet, but some snowflakes will be mixing in towards sunset.

Traveling will be dangerous and not recommended for most of today as glaze continues to cover the roadways.

Temperatures leading into Friday morning don't warm much, so some could be leftover for that commute. Overall accumulations are pictured below.

Stay safe.
