SARCOXIE, Mo --Two died in a wrong-way crash on I-44 in eastern Jasper County Saturday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a pickup heading westbound, traveling in the eastbound lanes hit head-on with an SUV northeast of Sarcoxie. The driver of the pickup, 75-year-old Bonnie Weaver from Tulsa, Oklahoma died in the crash. The driver of the SUV, Johnny Washburn of Asbury, Missouri also died in the crash.
Four passengers in Washburn's vehicle suffered serious injuries. All were taken to a Joplin Hospital.
The crash closed the interstate for nearly two hours.
