Cooler Today & Sunny

Winter Storm on the Way

Today, we should have no problems but the significant drop in temperatures. We started off the day in the low 20s after that cold front from Monday. Eventually, abundant sunshine will help those temps boost to the low 40s with breezy winds out of the northwest.

Our Winter Storm is heading towards the Ozarks as we speak. It should bring rain very late Wednesday evening towards our southwest, and eventually push through Springfield leading into Thursday. We'll see a mixed bag of everything! Periods of rain, freezing rain, sleet, light snow are all possible. Because of this, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for most of the Ozarks from Wednesday evening through much of Thursday.

Accumulations will be light in and south of Springfield, while higher snow accumulations are possible north of Nevada. The track of this system, the timing, and temperatures are still a tad uncertain, so these numbers could be shifted. Stay tuned for the latest updates on this winter storm.
