Cold start to new year

Cloudy, Highs Near 30

As we kick off a new year, temperatures will be similar to the last day of 2012. We'll see highs today near 30 degrees, so there is the possibility of slick spots on the roads. Winds will whip out of the north today allowing the temps to feel like the 20s all day long.

Overnight lows will be bitterly cold as well, as we drop to 14, but single digit wind chills are possible. Leading into the rest of the week, temperatures try to push to near 40 by Friday and Saturday. Monday features highs near 50 with plenty of sunshine.
