SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police officers are searching for the person who they say drove an SUV into a house in south Springfield - then ran away.
It happened Tuesday night on West Mcgee, just across from Bass Pro Shops.
The people who live in the house were home when it happened and told KSPR News they never saw that silver Jeep before; in fact - they tell us they don't even drive cars. They're bikers.
Anna Van Buskirk says the SUV broke down the garage door and barrelled into her 2005 Harley Davidson. The collision set fire to the garage, which spread to other parts of the house.
"If you want to look - you can't mis-park a car," Van Buskirk tells KSPR News. "It was a straight shot. It couldn't have been an accident."
Officials with the Springfield Fire Department also believe this was no accident.
Battalion Chief Dave Scheiderer confirmed that firefighters on scene found a heavy object lodged on top of the SUV's gas pedal.
Officers say the SUV has not been reported stolen and it's registered in a town several hours away from Springfield.
