A Day for Wednesday's Child

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- KSPR is hosting "A Day for Wednesday's Child" to find foster children a "forever home."

KSPR is teaming up with the Adoption Exchange for this special telethon lasting through the day.  The money raised benefits the Adoption Exchange, that connects children in the foster care system with a family locally.

KSPR began its Wednesday Child series in 2010.  We have profiled 125 children, with 24 of them placed with their forever families.  The Adoption Exchange says the average age of a child waiting for a new family is 12-years-old.
