Teen Arrested in Case of Missing Bentonville Mother, Daughter

By KSPR News

Bentonville police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the disappearance of two women from northwest Arkansas.

Nicolas James Johansen of Garfield, Ark., was arrested for hindering prosecution.

"Johansen’s arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation of two missing women, Christina Bishop and Louise Bishop, both of Bentonville," police said in a statement. "Christina Bishop, age 40, and Louise Bishop, age 81 have been missing since June 18th, 2009. Their car was found on the parking lot of a strip club in McDonald County, Mo.

"Johansen is the biological son of Christina Bishop, and his arrest was related to inconsistent statements he provided during the course of this investigation," police added.

Johansen's being held on the felony. Police say they won't have much else to say about the arrest because it's part of an active investigation.
