Licking Prisoner Dies

A prisoner from the South Central Correctional Center in Licking died Tuesday at a hospital.

Prison officials say Gary Davis, 58, was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Davis was serving a 120-year prison sentence for rape and robbery from Gasconade County. He'd been in prison since June 1979.

Prison officials say Davis died of apparent natural causes.
